Some gems from the Vaughan-Burns-Bassuk-Lagerquist Family Christmas/New Year's... Though the pictures are not perfectly representative of what we were up to (only 2 from Whistler, sadly), they pretty accurately capture the atmosphere of goofiness that tends to pervade our celebratory gatherings.

Daniel and Eliza with our inexplicably nicer and healthier 14 year-old cat, Smokey.

No, I didn't dye my hair and cut it all off, and no, Devon did not adopt Harry Potter's signature look. We were merely playing dress-up at the Burns family Christmas party.

I love this picture.

I believe this was the day that Devon left...

Sarah's birthday party. Ooohh Daniel.

Trying out a new look.

Sarah, marveling at her new fur-removing brush, one of the many fabulous gifts I gave her for her birthday.

At Sarah's birthday dinner, for some reason we were inspired to attach the ribbon napkin rings to our noses.

Eliza, Gordon (a.k.a. Santa Claus), and Anna-Stina, all smiles on Christmas morning.

Seattle had a white Christmas!! Only truly about .05 inches of snow, but to our naive eyes it looks like a foot.

You know, just a little backflip on skis through a flaming hoop. A very ordinary occurrence at Whistler.

A snapshot of our mini-Christmas at Whistler. Just being near this overwhelming pile of presents appears to have exhausted Daniel.

Absolutely lovely. I'm glad that Landing Lane is still going. I was beginning to worry!

Happy merry!
Lots of love.

PS: Where did Devon go?
